Before manually correcting identifications, a few quick checks in the list of athletes can help identify the most common sources of problems and correct them effectively.
Access the list of athletes #
From your album → “My athletes” → “By list”. Browse the list looking for the following anomalies.
Race numbers with an unusually high number of photos #
An athlete who accumulates a significantly higher than average number of photos is often a sign of false detection — a billboard, sign or piece of equipment with a similar number has been detected by the algorithm and their photos have been linked to that bib number.
- Click on the athlete to view related photos
- Delete incorrect identifications — see the article "Deleting an identification".
Race numbers with strange characters #
Bib numbers containing letters, special characters or inconsistent combinations (e.g. “A3Z”, “00O”, “1I1”, etc.) indicate that the algorithm has read an element that is not a real bib number — logo, inscription on clothing, plate number, etc.
- Remove these athletes from the list — see the article "Removing an athlete"
- If these false detections are recurrent, add the relevant values to the words to exclude from your bib configuration for future imports.
The same name or number appearing abnormally often #
If a bib number or name appears in a large number of unrelated photos, it is likely to be a case of confusion between several participants or repeated false detection.
- Check the photos associated with this athlete
- Correct incorrect identifications — see the article "Edit an identification on a photo"
Race numbers outside the expected range #
If your event uses bib numbers between 1 and 500, for example, any bib number outside this range is suspicious. Check and remove any athletes whose number does not correspond to the event’s bib number range.
💡 To avoid this issue on future imports, configure the min/max bib number values in the album settings — see the article “Setting restrictions on bib numbers”.
Quick verification checklist #
- Athletes with an unusually high number of photos
- Race numbers with strange or inconsistent characters
- Race numbers outside the expected range for the event
- The same name or number appearing repeatedly in unrelated photos
💡 These checks take a few minutes and allow you to correct the most significant anomalies first, before moving on to correcting the yellow identifications photo by photo.
